Nino Nanava completed a doctorate at the London School of Economics on the subject of Georgian nationalism, and before then received master's degrees in philosophy and international relations from Kiev State University. She worked with Mikheil Saakashvili in 1999 on Georgia’s parliamentary committee for constitutional and judicial affairs
