Shlomo Ben-Ami

Shlomo Ben-Ami was Israels foreign minister (2000-01) and has been centrally involved in the Middle East peace process. He is vice-president of the Toledo International Centre for Peace (FRIDE). He was formerly chair of the history department at Tel-Aviv University; among his books are Origins of the Second Republic in Spain (Oxford, 1978), Fascism From Above (Oxford, 1983), and a study of the Middle East conflict and its resolution (forthcoming, 2004).
