Tim Parsons is a lecturer in policing and criminology at the London Metropolitan University and a former police officer in the City of London Police. His thesis was an analysis of the legacy of Orientalist discourses on contemporary UK security policy. He is a student of Islam and teaches regularly in the United Arab Emirates.
